Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani visited Bilaspur district and interacted with students of the Kendriya Vidyalaya located on the premises of Rajkiya Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin. During the visit, he spoke to the students about education, sports and personality development, and shared tips related to these areas.

Dharmani also distributed sports kits among the students. He took information about the facilities being provided to them and discussed the requirements of the Kendriya Vidyalaya with the students and those present at the programme.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Ghumarwin currently does not have its own building. As a result, its classes are being conducted temporarily in the building of Rajkiya Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin.

Speaking about the issue, Dharmani said that land for the construction of the Kendriya Vidyalaya building had been transferred in the name of the Education Department. He said the government had decided to give this land on lease to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

The minister also said that a decision would soon be taken to provide the Kendriya Vidyalaya students with a science lab and a sports ground at the same school. The facilities available to the students and the arrangements for their education were also discussed during the interaction programme.

Dharmani also responded to the ongoing SIR controversy and the Congress party’s demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The Congress had taken out a protest march up to the Supreme Court on Monday in connection with the matter.

Reacting to the protest and the demand for the CEC’s resignation, Dharmani said the BJP was not only involved in “vote theft” in the country but that “MLAs and MPs are also being stolen”, weakening democracy.

Giving the example of his own Assembly constituency, the minister said that BJP-supported Booth Level Officers were removing the names of the families of voters whose names were not on the voter list. He said this benefited the BJP.

Dharmani further said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had raised the matter of corruption on a large scale with evidence. He added that he was happy that the protest had received strong public support. According to him, the demonstration had not remained limited to the Congress and had emerged as a protest by the people.

The minister also hit back at BJP MP Anurag Thakur over his allegation that Congress workers were politicising Mandi House. Dharmani said Mandi House was meant for the people of Himachal Pradesh, whether they were Congress workers or BJP workers.

He said that ordinary people from Himachal Pradesh could also go to Mandi House, and therefore, it was completely wrong to say that the place was being politicised.

Dharmani also said that the current Congress government had increased the rent of Mandi House and had worked to increase the number of Himachal Bhawans. He said these steps would ensure that sufficient rooms were available for people to stay in the coming period.

The minister added that Anurag Thakur could also accommodate his supporters there.
