After the shooting incident at Dev Hospital, the health department has started an inquiry into the hospital and begun examining its documents. The hospital, located near Sisauli Adda in the area under Adarsh Mandi police station in Shamli, could face action if any violation of rules is found. Officials are also considering the possibility of sealing the hospital in case of serious irregularities.

The health department’s team reached Dev Hospital under the leadership of nodal officer Deepak Chaudhary. The team reviewed the arrangements at the hospital and sought documents related to its operation. These included the hospital’s registration certificate, permission to operate and other necessary documents.

The officials examined the documents to determine whether the hospital had the required approvals for its operations. The team also gathered information about the facilities available at the hospital and checked whether the prescribed standards were being followed.

The health department’s action comes after a shooting incident outside the hospital. Police had arrested and sent to jail the hospital owner’s son, who was accused in the case. Following the police action, the health department also began checking the rules and requirements linked to the hospital’s operation.

Dispute had taken place three days earlier

According to the information available, a dispute had taken place three days earlier between a patient who had reached the hospital for treatment and the hospital management. The two sides allegedly got into an argument over an issue. It is alleged that after the dispute escalated, firing was carried out at patients from the hospital owner’s side.

The incident created panic and confusion inside the hospital premises and in the surrounding area. After the incident, the aggrieved side reached Adarsh Mandi police station and submitted a written complaint to the police.

The police registered a case on the basis of the complaint and started an investigation. During the action, the police arrested the hospital owner’s son. He was produced before a court and was then sent to jail.

Action to follow document verification

The health department has started examining the documents and the hospital’s arrangements after the police action. Officials said that if all the necessary documents and prescribed standards are found to be complete during the inquiry, further action will be taken according to the rules.

However, if the documents are found to be incomplete or any violation of the rules is detected, action will be taken against the hospital management as per the applicable rules. Officials have also indicated that if serious irregularities are found, the hospital may be sealed.

For now, the health department’s team is examining the hospital’s documents and facilities. The final position will become clear only after the inquiry is completed. The inquiry will establish whether Dev Hospital was being operated in accordance with the prescribed rules and standards.
