Hathras District Magistrate Satya Prakash Patel inspected the Shri Dauji Gaushala in Gram Panchayat Samamai Ruhal under the Sasni development block on 10 October. He was accompanied by Superintendent of Police Chiranjiv Nath Sinha. During the inspection, the officials reviewed arrangements for the protection, feeding, drinking water, healthcare and cleanliness of the cattle housed at the gaushala.

The District Magistrate directed the officials concerned to ensure the effective functioning of the gaushala, giving the highest priority to the proper nutrition, care and health of the cattle. He also stressed that there should be no negligence in looking after them.

During the inspection, the District Magistrate examined the tin shed constructed on the gaushala premises, the fodder storage arrangements, drinking water facilities and the arrangements available for treating sick cattle. Officials informed him that a 100×63 feet tin shed had been constructed at the gaushala.

Pipes obtained during the reboring of hand pumps were used in the construction of the pillars of the shed. Officials said this helped reduce the construction cost. A separate tin shed has also been constructed to keep sick cattle apart while they are undergoing treatment.

The Chief Veterinary Officer told the District Magistrate that 300 destitute cattle are currently being protected at the gaushala. This includes 23 male cattle and 277 female cattle. Ten caretakers have been deployed to look after them.

The gaushala currently has three tin sheds. Construction of one more tin shed is in progress. Three troughs have been arranged for the cattle to eat fodder, while five water tanks have been provided for drinking water. Two submersible pumps have also been arranged for the water supply.

At present, 90 quintals of straw are safely stored at the gaushala. Between 35 and 45 quintals of green fodder is being made available every day. In addition, a straw warehouse with a capacity of 2,000 quintals has been constructed for the safe storage of fodder.

The Chief Veterinary Officer also informed the District Magistrate that 24 cattle had so far been handed over to 12 beneficiaries. Arrangements have been made to keep drinking water, electricity supply and security services running smoothly at the gaushala. Closed-circuit television cameras are also operational on the premises.

A QR code-based system has been introduced to ensure transparency and accountability in the inspection process. Under this system, entries related to inspections will be recorded online. The District Magistrate and the Chief Development Officer will be able to review these entries.

The District Magistrate expressed satisfaction with the arrangements available at the gaushala. He directed the officials to ensure that the cattle receive sufficient fodder, clean drinking water and better healthcare facilities. He also instructed them to run the gaushala effectively in line with the government’s intent.

He further directed that large-scale tree plantation be carried out on the gaushala premises. Instructions were also issued to ensure the installation of a solar pump so that the arrangements at the gaushala could be improved further.

The District Development Officer, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Sasni, the Block Development Officer of Sasni and other concerned officers and employees were present during the inspection.
