Ghaziabad: Redeveloped Vijayanagar Police Station Building Inaugurated

The redeveloped building of Vijay Nagar police station in Ghaziabad was inaugurated after being equipped with modern facilities. Ghaziabad Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Goud and Municipal Corporation Mayor Sunita Dayal were the main guests at the programme. The two jointly cut the ribbon and inaugurated the new building.

Under the leadership of Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Goud, the Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate has been working continuously to make police stations modern, public-friendly and high-tech. Vijay Nagar police station is part of the same series of works. After redevelopment, the police station now has better waiting facilities for complainants, clean washrooms, pure drinking water, office areas with AC facilities, and a Mission Shakti centre for women.

Attention has also been given to the cyber cell and other modern facilities so that citizens who come to the police station get a dignified and convenient experience. The redevelopment has been presented as part of the wider effort to improve the experience of people visiting police stations and to make police services more accessible.

Speaking on the occasion, Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Goud said that the modernisation of police stations is not limited only to construction of buildings. He said its main objective is to strengthen people-oriented policing, ensure quick disposal of complaints and increase public trust. He directed police station personnel to behave with every complainant in a gentle, sensitive and cooperative manner.

The Police Commissioner also stressed regular public hearings, quick registration of FIRs and giving priority to women’s safety. These instructions were given to ensure that the upgraded building is matched by better functioning and more responsive policing for the public.

DCP City Dhawal Jaiswal, ACP Upasana Pandey and Vijay Nagar police station in-charge Dharmpal Singh had a special contribution in the work. Mayor Sunita Dayal also appreciated the development work and said that police-citizen cooperation improves both law and order and public facilities.

Other senior police officers, police station in-charges and local public representatives were also present at the programme. Their presence marked the formal opening of the redeveloped police station building and the completion of another police infrastructure upgrade in the city.

In the Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate, several police stations, such as Kavinagar, Indirapuram, Shalimar Garden and others, have been renovated and newly constructed in the last one-and-a-half years. There has been a special focus on equipping police stations in the Trans-Hindon area with modern facilities. The redeveloped Vijay Nagar police station building is also an important step in the same direction, aimed at helping residents of the area get better police services.
