Ghaziabad Police Arrest Woman, Alleged Lover In Husband-Killing Case

Police in Ghaziabad have arrested a woman and her alleged lover in connection with the killing of her husband, Anshul. The Khoda police said the murder case was solved within 12 hours. An illegal country-made pistol allegedly used in the crime has also been recovered.

The incident took place in the Khoda police station area of Ghaziabad. Anshul, who lived with his wife Nisha in a rented room in Vandana Vihar, was allegedly shot dead on 10 October 2026. Police said Nisha and Pappu alias Ganga Bhagat planned the killing because they wanted to remove Anshul from their way and get married.

On 11 October 2026, Anshul’s brother submitted a written complaint at Khoda police station. In the complaint, he stated that Anshul had been living with his wife, Nisha, in a rented room in Vandana Vihar, Khoda. Both Anshul and Nisha worked at a stitching company in Noida.

Pappu alias Ganga Bhagat, who is described as their cousin brother-in-law, had also been living with them for around two years. During this period, Nisha and Pappu allegedly developed a relationship. When Anshul came to know about it, he complained several times.

The issue also led to arguments within the family. However, the family members settled the matter among themselves because of concerns about social reputation. Police said that despite this, Nisha and Pappu wanted to eliminate Anshul and marry each other.

Based on the written complaint, an FIR was registered at Khoda police station under Case No. 411/26 and Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, or BNS. A police team was formed to arrest the accused.

Acting on information from an informant, the Khoda police team arrested both accused on 11 October 2026. The police identified the accused as Pappu alias Ganga Bhagat, son of Surpal, a resident of Olrapur village, Maigalganj police station area, Kheri district. His age is around 35 years.

The second accused is Nisha, wife of Anshul, a resident of Mohalla Vandana Vihar, Khoda police station area, Ghaziabad. Her age is around 30 years.

At the alleged instance of Pappu, the police recovered one illegal country-made .315-bore pistol and one empty cartridge, which were allegedly used in the incident. Following the recovery, Section 3/25 of the Arms Act was added to the case. Further legal proceedings are under way.

During questioning, arrested accused Pappu allegedly told the police that they had been living in the same rented room in Khoda’s Vandana Vihar for around two years. He also allegedly stated that his first wife had died and that his second wife lived in the village.

According to the police, Pappu said that he had developed a relationship with Nisha during this period. Anshul came to know about the relationship and complained about it several times within the family. The matter resulted in a quarrel, but the family members reached a settlement because of social concerns.

Pappu allegedly told the police that he and Nisha wanted to remove Anshul from their way and marry each other. He allegedly brought a country-made pistol and a cartridge from his village and kept them hidden in the room.

The police said Anshul had taken two days’ leave from work, while Nisha had not taken leave. According to the alleged account given during questioning, Anshul was alone at home when Pappu got the opportunity to shoot him. Pappu allegedly shot Anshul dead on 10 October 2026.

The police further said that Pappu told Nisha about the entire killing over the phone. He allegedly remained in continuous contact with Nisha on the day of the incident and informed her about what had happened.

The Khoda police said that no other criminal history related to this murder case is registered against either accused at Khoda police station. Only this one case has been registered. Further statutory action in the matter is continuing.
