Ghaziabad Begins Kanwar Route Preparations in Patel Nagar

Preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra have begun along the Patel Nagar stretch of Meerut Road in Ghaziabad, with municipal teams checking sanitation, street lighting and roadside trees before pilgrims start moving through the city.

Patel Nagar ward councillor Sheetal Chaudhary (Deol) said she was inspecting the route with the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation team. Mayor Sunita Dayal is also involved in coordinating facilities and issuing directions at the municipal level, according to the information shared with NewsDarpan.

Lighting, tree pruning and sanitation under review

The inspection is focused on pruning tree branches that could obstruct movement, checking lights mounted on roadside poles and improving cleanliness along the route. Chaudhary said the objective was to reduce avoidable problems for Kanwar pilgrims and keep their journey safe and orderly.

Patel Nagar lies on the Meerut Road corridor used by pilgrims travelling onwards towards Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan. Mayor Sunita Dayal is also fully involved in this work,” she said.
