Four schoolchildren dangle dangerously from moving e-rickshaw in Chandausi

A video showing four schoolchildren dangerously hanging from the back of an e-rickshaw on their way to school in Chandausi has raised serious safety concerns, especially in the wake of a recent fatal accident in the area that claimed six lives just a few days ago.

The incident was captured on camera near Sacred Heart School, located close to the Chandausi-Moradabad highway. In the video, the four school students can be seen sitting at the rear of the e-rickshaw with their legs dangling towards the road. The children are wearing white uniforms and their school bags are placed on the roof of the e-rickshaw.

What makes the situation particularly alarming is that the e-rickshaw has no support or railing at the back. This means that even a slight application of brakes or a pothole in the road could cause the children to fall directly onto the street.

The road where this video was filmed sees continuous movement of large trucks, pickups, tractors and motorcycles. Despite this heavy traffic, the children appear carefree, waving their hands as they travel, seemingly unaware of the grave danger they are in.

The incident comes just days after a collision between a tempo and a dumper in the area resulted in six fatalities, making this unsafe practice even more concerning.

Local residents have pointed out that several e-rickshaw drivers seat more children than the vehicle's capacity allows, and children in their hurry end up hanging from the back. They have emphasized that both parents and the school management need to pay attention to this serious issue and take immediate steps to ensure the safety of students during their commute to school.
