Flinders University to Open India Campus in Bengaluru in Early 2027

Australia's Flinders University will establish an international campus in Bengaluru, bringing its education system to one of the world's leading technology and innovation capitals. The milestone was sealed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Australia, with Flinders officially receiving a Letter of Intent from India's University Grants Commission, announced by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Courses and intake

Set to open in early 2027, the campus will offer degrees in Business, Computer Science and Information Technology, alongside an MBA (Future Business) — creating industry-connected pathways into Bengaluru's booming innovation economy. Students from both countries will build skills, networks and international experience needed to solve complex problems at scale in a global workforce.

Flinders University Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling said, "Receiving approval from India's University Grants Commission is a landmark moment for Flinders and an exciting step in our international journey. Our Bengaluru campus will bring a Flinders education into a place where ideas and innovation are translated into real-world impact every day."

Aligns with National Education Policy

The campus aligns with India's National Education Policy 2020, which aims to broaden access to higher education by enabling leading international universities to establish campuses in India. Flinders already has partnerships in Kerala (engineering), Gujarat (AI research) and with the University of Hyderabad (digital healthcare). Application dates and further details will be announced later this year.
