Superintendents Appointed to Five Government Hospitals

Vijayawada: The medical and health department has announced the appointment of superintendents to five government general hospitals (GGHs) on a full additional charge (FAC) basis. The appointments were made on Thursday, as per orders issued by Dr. A. Vishnuvardhan, Director of Medical Education (DME).

The newly appointed superintendents will oversee operations at GGHs located in Guntur, Kadapa, Eluru, Pulivendula, and Madanapalli. Among the appointees, Dr. G. Durga Prasad, a professor of radiation oncology at Guntur Government Medical College (GMC), has been designated as the superintendent of Guntur GGH.

Dr. K.B. Yadavendra Reddy, a professor of general medicine at GMC Kadapa, has been assigned as the superintendent of Kadapa GGH, with his appointment taking effect from July 1, 2026. Meanwhile, Dr. G. Symala, an anatomy professor at GMC Eluru, will serve as the superintendent of Eluru GGH.

In Pulivendula, Dr. G. Lakshmisha Kantha, an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at Pulivendula GMC, has been appointed as the superintendent of Pulivendula GGH. Similarly, Dr. Sk Masoor Ahmed, an associate professor of pediatrics at Madanapalli GMC, has been designated as the superintendent of Madanapalli GGH.

The DME emphasized that these appointments were made to address administrative requirements, institutional representations, and service-related developments. The newly appointed officers have been instructed to assume charge through their respective principals and ensure compliance with the issued orders.
