Firozabad schools face serious neglect after BSA inspection reveals chaos

Firozabad's Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), Anil Kumar Singh, conducted inspections across several schools in the district, uncovering widespread negligence. The schools inspected included Primary School Gola, Composite School Usaini, Primary School Nagla Harishchandra, Multi-Story School Kanshiram Colony Gadhi Chhatrapati, and Primary School Khangarai. The findings have raised serious concerns about the state of education and infrastructure in these institutions.

During the inspection at Multi-Story School Kanshiram Colony Gadhi Chhatrapati at 9:30 AM, several staff members, including assistant teachers Radha, Sapna, Poonam, and Shiksha Mitra Deep Shikha, were absent. Furthermore, no teacher had signed the attendance register by the time of the visit. Teachers present at the site explained that the principal, Santosh Kumar, arrived late, and the register was locked in a cupboard, preventing signatures. Out of 172 enrolled students, only 72 were present. The school premises were in disarray, with scattered items, hanging electrical wires, broken tube lights, and blackboards precariously placed on bricks. Windows and doors were damaged, toilets were either broken or non-functional, and the building appeared neglected, with no painting or maintenance done in years.

The inspection also revealed poor hygiene, with overgrown grass and general filth in the school compound. Students reported a lack of punctuality among teachers, and academic standards were found to be subpar. Midday meals were another area of concern; milk scheduled for distribution on Wednesday was missing, and open oil and spices were being used for cooking.

Following the inspection, BSA Anil Kumar Singh issued strict instructions to all staff to ensure timely attendance, maintain cleanliness, update teacher diaries, and comply fully with departmental guidelines. The findings highlight the urgent need for systemic improvements to ensure better educational standards and facilities in Firozabad's schools.
