Firozabad jail inspection ensures legal aid for inmates' rights

In compliance with directives from the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (UPSLSA), Lucknow, Firozabad District Legal Services Authority Secretary Yogesh Shiva conducted an inspection of the Firozabad District Jail on Monday. The inspection focused on assessing the free legal aid provided to inmates, the status of their pending cases, their legal rights, and the basic facilities available in the jail.

During the visit, Ms. Shiva personally interacted with inmates to understand their concerns and legal needs. She issued necessary instructions to ensure timely and effective legal assistance for eligible inmates. Coordination with jail authorities was emphasized to guarantee that every eligible prisoner benefits from schemes under the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and UPSLSA, ensuring that no inmate faces obstacles in accessing justice due to financial or other constraints.

In a related initiative, a "Stress Management & Meditation Program" was organized on Tuesday for employees of the Firozabad District Court and the District Legal Services Authority. The program, led by Secretary Yogesh Shiva, aimed to improve mental health, manage stress, and enhance workplace efficiency. Ms. Shiva discussed the causes and impacts of stress, offering practical solutions through meditation, breathing exercises, and positive thinking. Participants were guided through a meditation session and encouraged to incorporate regular yoga and mindfulness practices into their daily lives.

Addressing the attendees, Ms. Shiva highlighted the importance of mental well-being for institutional efficiency, stating, "Mentally healthy and stress-free employees are the backbone of any organization. Regular meditation and self-reflection not only bring peace but also improve focus, decision-making, and a positive outlook towards work."

The program saw enthusiastic participation from court and authority staff, who benefited from the meditation session. The Firozabad District Legal Services Authority continues to make meaningful efforts to ensure equal access to justice while promoting the mental health and efficiency of judicial personnel.
