Father and three daughters killed as mud house collapses in Kanpur rain

A father and three of his daughters were killed when their two-room mud house collapsed following intermittent rain in Hirni village under Sadh police station area of Kanpur. A fourth daughter was critically injured in the incident that occurred on Sunday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Mukesh, who worked as a labourer to support his family, and his three daughters Pallavi, Neetu and Maya. Mukesh's daughter Kajal was grievously injured and has been referred to Kanpur district hospital after initial treatment.

According to information, Mukesh lived in Hirni village and earned his living through daily wage labour. At the time of the accident, his four daughters Kajal, Neetu, Pallavi and Maya were inside the house. The two-room mud house suddenly collapsed due to intermittent rainfall, trapping the father and all four daughters under the debris.

Hearing the sound of the house collapsing, local residents rushed to the spot and immediately informed the police and fire brigade before starting rescue operations. Police reached the scene and, with the help of villagers, managed to pull out all the injured after two hours of intensive effort. They were rushed to CHC Patara for primary treatment.

Doctors at CHC Patara declared Mukesh along with his three daughters Pallavi, Neetu and Maya dead on arrival. Kajal was referred to Kanpur district hospital during primary treatment. The entire family has been plunged into mourning following the tragedy.
