District Magistrate launches month-long campaign to rectify land record discrepancies

District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma has launched a month-long special rectification campaign to address discrepancies in land records across the district. During a review of revenue records, it was found that the current entries related to land divisions were inconsistent with the actual situation on the ground. Taking serious note of the problems faced by farmers and villagers due to these errors, Sharma has directed officials to ensure corrective measures are implemented effectively.

To ensure transparency and efficiency, the District Magistrate has issued specific guidelines for the campaign. All revenue officers, including Lekhpals, will be assigned duties in a roster system. They will visit villages to read out land records (khatauni) to the public and identify errors in land division entries. Any discrepancies found during this process will be corrected as per legal procedures.

Additional District Magistrate (Namami Gange) has been appointed as the nodal officer to oversee coordination among all tehsils and ensure smooth execution of the campaign. The initiative will run continuously for one month to ensure no eligible farmer or affected land parcel is overlooked.

The District Magistrate will personally review the progress of the campaign through weekly meetings, analyzing updates from each tehsil and area. Officials and staff found negligent in their duties have been warned of strict action. Sharma emphasized the importance of maintaining complete transparency and urgency during the campaign to prevent unnecessary inconvenience to the public seeking corrections in their land records.

This campaign is expected to bring significant relief to farmers and villagers by resolving long-pending issues in land documentation and ensuring accurate records for future reference.
