District Magistrate conducts surprise inspection of local healthcare facilities

District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma conducted a surprise inspection of the autonomous government medical college, district hospital, and trauma center to assess the quality of healthcare services and facilities provided to patients.

During the visit, the District Magistrate interacted directly with patients, their attendants, and family members. Most expressed satisfaction with the medical care and services available at the hospital, and no complaints regarding treatment or staff were reported. However, some instructions were issued to improve cleanliness in the hospital premises.

Mr. Sharma emphasized that cleanliness in the hospital, which operates 24x7, must be maintained at the highest level. Strict directives were given to cleaning staff to ensure regular and dedicated efforts towards maintaining hygiene across the campus. Specific attention was also given to the neonatal care unit, where nurses and medical staff were instructed to prioritize infection prevention. Families were advised not to bring newborns out of their beds unnecessarily; instead, relatives should be allowed to see the baby at the bedside.

The District Magistrate assured that the administration is committed to continuously monitoring healthcare services to ensure prompt and efficient medical assistance for the public. He stated, "Whether it is day, afternoon, or night, inspections are being carried out regularly to ensure smooth functioning of health services. Any complaints brought to notice in the future will be addressed promptly and strictly."

The inspection reflects the administration’s focus on improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring patient satisfaction, with a promise of swift action on any lapses in service delivery.
