A fire incident in Delhi's Tughlakabad on June 12 resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including a man and two women. The fire broke out in the parking area of a five-story building and quickly spread throughout the structure. Six people were rescued by the fire brigade, which responded to emergency calls received between 2:35 AM and 2:37 AM. The blaze was brought under control by 3:45 AM.
Police investigations, aided by CCTV footage, revealed that a minor girl entered the building before the fire and exited just as an explosion occurred. The girl was apprehended and confessed that Sarita (27), a resident of Govind Puri's Girinagar, had instigated her to set fire to a scooter on the fifth floor over a financial dispute. Sarita allegedly provided petrol and matches for the act. She was reportedly acting on the instructions of two other individuals, Niranjan (33) and his brother Rajkumar (27). All four have been arrested.
Eyewitnesses reported that vehicles in the parking area exploded one by one, intensifying the fire. Rescue efforts included breaking locks and using sarees to lower individuals to safety. Approximately 20-22 people were in the building at the time, which housed nine families.
