Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the state government is focusing on long-term development in preparation for the grand organisation of Simhastha 2028.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the state government is focusing on long-term development in preparation for the grand organisation of Simhastha 2028. He said development work is being carried out continuously to improve facilities for pilgrims visiting Ujjain, a city that has held special significance in every period and era.
The statement was made in Ujjain on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. Foundation stones were laid for development works worth Rs 539 crore in the city. These projects include the Amrit Dwar and Panchajanya Dwar in Ujjain. Panchajanya is the conch of Lord Shri Krishna.
Dr. Yadav said that after work at Sandipani Ashram and Mangalnath, foundation stones had also been laid for construction work at Siddhavat. According to him, arrangements are being made through these works for the convenience of devotees and shops. The projects are part of the wider development planned for Ujjain ahead of Simhastha 2028.
The Chief Minister said the state government is working for the welfare of all sections of society. He said people affected by the removal of shops for the development of the city would be provided alternative locations. Similarly, if anyone’s house has been demolished, accommodation would be made available to that person under government schemes.
Dr. Yadav said that during the Kisan Kalyan Varsh, the state government had decided to provide free registration of old land and properties in rural areas. Under the Swamitva Yojana, people would receive permanent rights over their properties. He said the state government was committed to carrying out all its works with complete transparency.
He also said that every Friday, under the Jan Vishwas Abhiyan, government officers go into the field and provide benefits to beneficiaries. The initiative, he said, reflects the government’s effort to ensure that welfare benefits reach people directly.
Dr. Yadav said the Valmiki Ashram in Ujjain is a centre of faith for devotees from across the country. He directed officials connected with the administration to work on the possibilities of developing homestays in rural areas around Ujjain. He said this would help society and the government work together for the grand and divine organisation of Simhastha.
The Chief Minister said the government was making efforts through the Tourism Corporation and the administration to connect people with employment. He added that no one should face any difficulty during Simhastha.
Dr. Yadav also made several announcements. A new dharamshala equipped with all facilities would be built. A retaining wall and other development works would also be completed. He further announced that the police station located near Valmiki Dham would be named Valmiki Dham Police Station.
Ujjain district in-charge minister Gautam Tetwal said preparations for the grand organisation of Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain had begun 30 months in advance. He said roads were being built up to 100 kilometres in all four directions from Ujjain. Pilgrimage sites were also being developed in a new form, he said.
Former Union minister Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya said the wave of development works being carried out in Ujjain for Simhastha 2028 had reached Maa Baglamukhi. He said Maharishi Valmiki had been among the Sapt Rishis.
Rajya Sabha member Balayogi Umesh Nath Ji Maharaj said Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti was being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. He said an atmosphere of social harmony had been created in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.
Balayogi Umesh Nath Ji Maharaj said Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was moving forward on the path shown by Lord Shri Ram and was taking all sections of society along with him. He said everyone had to work together for the grand and divine organisation of Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain.
He also referred to Sharad Purnima, saying that there was a shower of nectar on the occasion. During Simhastha, he said, there would be a shower of the nectar of knowledge from the saints.
