Class 12 student missing after family dispute in Shravasti district

A 17-year-old Class 12 student has gone missing under mysterious circumstances in Shravasti district, triggering an intensive search operation involving police and SDRF teams. Pratibha, a resident of Jogni village under Bhinga police station, vanished after her parents left home to file a complaint at the local police station following a neighborhood dispute.

The incident unfolded after a quarrel over drainage water between two families—Tejram and Ramesh—escalated into physical violence. When Pratibha's parents returned from lodging their report at the police station, they discovered their daughter had disappeared without a trace. More than 24 hours have passed since the teenager went missing, with no breakthrough in the case so far.

Family members have made serious allegations against Ramesh, claiming he killed Pratibha in retaliation for the dispute and dumped her body in the Rapti river. The accusation has prompted authorities to launch a multi-pronged investigation. SDRF divers have been deployed in the Rapti river, conducting search operations with nets to locate any evidence. Simultaneously, police teams are combing the area for clues.

Investigators are now examining Call Detail Records (CDR) of mobile phones belonging to both family members and suspects, hoping the digital trail will shed light on what transpired that evening. Area Magistrate Alok Kumar Singh of Ikauna confirmed that all possible angles are being explored. The family remains distraught, demanding swift action and answers about their daughter's whereabouts.

The case has sent shockwaves through the rural community, highlighting how a minor neighborhood disagreement spiraled into a potential tragedy. Police have assured the family that every resource is being utilized to trace the missing student.
