CBSE 12th Reevaluation Portal to Open on June 1 After Technical Issues

The Central Board of Secondary controversy Education (CBSE) has announced an extension for the reevaluation and marks verification process for Class 12 students. Initially scheduled to begin on May 29, the portal will now open on June 1. This decision was taken after technical issues and a high volume of applications caused disruptions in the process.

CBSE has stated that it is working to improve the portal to ensure a smoother experience for students. The reevaluation process will be conducted entirely online, and students can apply through the official website starting June 1. This year, CBSE implemented the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for the first time, which led to complaints from students and parents regarding lower marks.

The board had initially started the online application process for reevaluation and scanned answer sheets on May 19. However, due to a surge in applications—1.26 lakh within the first three hours—the website faced technical difficulties, including server crashes and payment failures. CBSE temporarily suspended the process and extended the deadline to May 25 before deciding to reopen the portal on June 1.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has directed officials to address student concerns transparently and efficiently. He emphasized accountability and assured that corrective measures will be implemented. A high-level meeting was held at CBSE headquarters in New Delhi, involving senior officials and experts from educational institutions and public sector banks.
