Cancer patient and daughters homeless after mud house collapses in Pratapgarh rains

A 60-year-old cancer patient and his daughters have been left homeless after their mud house collapsed during heavy rain in Pratapgarh district. Lalita Prasad Pandey, who is battling the serious illness, is now forced to live under the open sky with his daughters after the sudden collapse.

The incident took place in Raigadh, Kutliya village in Babaganj block, where continuous rainfall caused Pandey's mud house to suddenly cave in. The collapse scattered the family's belongings under the debris, creating immediate problems not only for shelter but also for keeping their essential items safe. For Lalita Prasad, who is struggling with a serious disease, the situation has become even more difficult.

The family has said they have not received benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana so far. Due to their weak financial condition, they are not capable of constructing a pucca house on their own. In these circumstances, the family needs a secure roof over their heads amid the ongoing rain.

Villagers have demanded that the administration take cognizance of the matter and immediately provide relief material and financial assistance to the affected family. They have also called for ensuring that Pandey's family receives the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The household items remain scattered in the rubble, while the family continues to face the elements without proper shelter.
