Bulandshahr CHC Women’s Ward Allegedly Without Power, Patients Left in Darkness

A video showing the women’s ward of the Community Health Centre in Shikarpur town, Bulandshahr, without electricity has gone viral on social media. The footage has brought forward a shocking picture of alleged government neglect at the hospital.

The women’s ward is seen in complete darkness. The video clearly shows a helpless female patient lying on a bed in the dense darkness because there is no electricity. Patients and their attendants can also be heard saying that the women’s ward is engulfed in darkness.

They further say that mosquitoes are troubling the female patients amid the intense heat. The condition shown in the video has raised concerns about the basic facilities available to patients at the Community Health Centre.

Local citizens have expressed anger and accused the CHC in-charge of negligence. They have questioned why basic arrangements such as electricity and a generator are missing when the government is providing a budget of lakhs for health services.

The incident has also brought renewed attention to earlier complaints related to the centre. Several videos showing alleged negligence at this CHC had gone viral in the past as well.

However, local citizens said that the CMO had not taken any strict action over those incidents. Because of this, serious questions are being raised about the seriousness of the health administration.
