The Women’s Under-19 Challenger Cup will be held at the Bilaspur Cricket Stadium from 30 October to 5 November. The tournament is being organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), following the successful hosting of the Mumbai versus Himachal Pradesh Ranji match at the stadium from 18 to 21 October.

The details were shared by Bilaspur Cricket Association secretary Vishal Jagota during a press conference. He said the national-level Women’s Under-19 Challenger Cup would be hosted at the Bilaspur Cricket Stadium during the scheduled period.

The tournament will include six matches between India and ABCD. Two matches will be played at the stadium each on 30 October, 1 November and 3 November. The final match will be held on 5 November.

The Bilaspur Cricket Association is excited about the hosting of the competition and has started preparations for the tournament. The event will bring another national-level cricket competition to the stadium after the successful organisation of the Mumbai versus Himachal Pradesh Ranji match.

The theme of the competition at the cricket stadium will be “SAY NO TO DRUGS”. The theme has been chosen to keep the younger generation away from drugs.

Vishal Jagota said all the teams would reach Bilaspur on 27 October in connection with the tournament. He also said that the Women’s Premier League, or WPL, is scheduled to be held before the Indian Premier League, or IPL. Keeping this in view, WPL selectors will also reach Bilaspur during the Challenger Cup.

Arrangements for spectators are also being made at the stadium. Vishal Jagota said complete arrangements for drinking water and toilets would be available during the Challenger Cup so that spectators could enjoy the matches.

The Bilaspur Cricket Association secretary also expressed his gratitude to former Union minister and MP Anurag Thakur for the organisation of the Ranji match and the Challenger Cup in Bilaspur. He expressed hope that similar tournaments would continue to be held at the Bilaspur Cricket Stadium in the future.
