Bahraich district holds peace meet ahead of festivals to ensure harmonious celebrations

A district-level peace committee meeting was held on Monday in Bahraich under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Akshay Tripathi to ensure the peaceful conduct of upcoming festivals including Barawafat, Rakshabandhan, Ganesh Chaturthi, and other celebrations. The meeting took place at the Collectorate auditorium and was attended by Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava along with officials from various committees and members of the public.

During the meeting, the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police appealed to office bearers of different committees and citizens to celebrate the festivals in a traditional and harmonious manner. They urged people to immediately bring any information concerning law and order to the notice of responsible officials. The District Magistrate emphasized that the district administration is fully serious about maintaining law and order in the district. He expressed not just hope but complete confidence that with everyone's cooperation, the upcoming festivals will be celebrated in a harmonious atmosphere as in the past.

The DM directed that the route for Barawafat be marked out and instructed the Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department to ensure that electric wires along the procession routes are properly secured. He also directed officials from municipal bodies, panchayati raj, and the electricity department to ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, along with proper sanitation arrangements on procession routes, religious places, and surrounding areas. Suggestions received during the meeting from community leaders regarding electricity, water, cleanliness, procession routes, and lighting arrangements will be implemented with appropriate arrangements.

Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava assured that good policing arrangements will be in place during the festivals. Adequate police force will be deployed at sensitive and hyper-sensitive locations, and strict action will be taken against those who violate the law. He appealed to people not to indulge in any activity that hurts the sentiments of other communities. The meeting was attended by former Municipal Chairman Teje Khan, Kalbe Abbas, Dimpal Jain, Nisha Gupta, Inayatullah Khan, Parshuram Kushwaha, and other dignitaries who provided important suggestions regarding electricity, water, sanitation, and lighting arrangements, along with various district officials and community leaders from different areas.
