APJAC urges Andhra Pradesh government to resolve employee demands urgently

The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (APJAC), representing employees, teachers, and pensioners, has urged the state government to address their long-pending demands without further delay. The appeal was made during the APJAC's State executive committee meeting held in Vijayawada on Saturday.

APJAC State President A. Vidya Sagar and Secretary General K.S.S. Prasad highlighted key issues, including the need to appoint a Pay Revision Commission (PRC), announce Interim Relief (IR), and clear pending Dearness Allowances (DAs). They emphasized that five DAs remain unpaid and pointed out that the last pay revision took place eight years ago. "The government must act swiftly to resolve these issues, which have been pending for several years," Mr. Sagar stated.

The committee leaders expressed concern over the growing distress among employees due to the prolonged delay in addressing their demands. Mr. Prasad noted that the lack of action has left workers, teachers, and pensioners struggling to cope with financial challenges. He called on the government to prioritize the welfare of its employees and take immediate steps to meet their needs.

The APJAC has been consistently raising these issues, but members say the lack of resolution has created frustration and uncertainty among the workforce. With inflation and rising living costs, the delay in pay revisions and allowances has had a significant impact on employees' financial stability.

The committee hopes the government will respond promptly and take concrete measures to address their concerns. The demands, they argue, are not just about financial relief but also about recognizing the contributions of employees and ensuring their well-being.
