Amethi police bust bike theft ring, recover six stolen motorcycles

Amethi police have achieved a major success under Operation Chakravyuh with the arrest of three bike thieves and the recovery of six stolen motorcycles from their possession. The recovered bikes had been reported missing from various police station areas across the district.

The three accused were apprehended by Amethi police as part of a crackdown on vehicle theft in the region. Police recovered a total of six motorcycles that had gone missing from different thana areas and were in the possession of the arrested thieves.

During police interrogation, the accused revealed their modus operandi. They told investigators that out of fear of police detection, they would scrape off the original number plates of the stolen motorcycles and fit different number plates on them before using the vehicles. This method allowed them to evade immediate identification while riding the stolen bikes.

Theft cases related to the recovered motorcycles are registered at Sangrampur and Gauriganj police stations. Police have now registered cases against all three accused and initiated legal proceedings against them. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in tackling the bike theft menace in the Amethi district.
