Youth’s Body Found Three Days After Drowning In Sai River

A body found in the Sai river near Barcha Mor in the Nagar Kotwali area of Pratapgarh on Wednesday caused a stir in the area. Police later identified the deceased as 24-year-old Tikku alias Divyanshu Yadav, a resident of Dharupur village in the Kotwali Dehat area.

According to the information given, the young man had drowned in the Sai river around 3 pm on Saturday while bathing. He had come near the river to attend an invitation. After the incident, police and an SDRF team carried out a search operation in the river, but even after several hours of searching, he could not be traced.

On Wednesday, three days after he went missing, local people informed the police after spotting a body in the Sai river near Barcha Mor. Acting on the information, police from the Chilbila outpost reached the spot.

Chilbila outpost in-charge Ajay Anchal, sub-inspector Surjeet Singh, constables Anil Yadav and Yogesh Yadav, and head constables Satendra and Vivek reached the site and began efforts to establish the identity of the body. Police circulated the young man’s photo to nearby outpost in-charges.

Ankit Tiwari of the Bhuliyapur outpost identified the youth from the photo as Tikku alias Divyanshu Yadav of Dharupur village in the Kotwali Dehat area. After the identification was confirmed, police took the body into custody and started the required proceedings.

The news of the young man’s death led to chaos and grief in the family. Family members were inconsolable after learning that the body recovered from the river was that of Divyanshu Yadav, who had been missing since he drowned while bathing in the Sai river.
