Yogi Adityanath raises commission for fair price shop owners to ₹125

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a significant increase in the commission for fair price shop owners across the state, raising it from ₹90 to ₹125 per quintal. Alongside this, he also launched an e-POS-based feedback system for these shopkeepers, aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in the public distribution system. The announcement was made during a program held at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow, which was attended by representatives from all districts via live broadcast.

In Shravasti, a local event was organized at the Collectorate Auditorium to mark the occasion. District Panchayat President Daddan Mishra, Additional District Magistrate Lalit Kumar, and District Supply Officer Manoj Kumar Pandey inaugurated the program by lighting a ceremonial lamp. The live telecast of the Chief Minister's speech was watched by officials, public representatives, and fair price shop owners.

Speaking at the event, District Panchayat President Daddan Mishra highlighted the benefits of the new system. He stated that the use of e-POS machines and the single-stage doorstep delivery system has eliminated middlemen, ensuring direct benefits to the intended beneficiaries. "This is a big step towards transparency in the distribution process," he said.

Additional District Magistrate Lalit Kumar emphasized the importance of the e-POS-based feedback system, which will allow real-time monitoring of ration distribution and delivery. "This initiative will increase transparency and accountability in the public distribution system," he added. The new commission structure is expected to benefit approximately 450 fair price shop owners in Shravasti district alone.

The event saw participation from Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ashish Bhardwaj, supply inspectors, department staff, and fair price shop owners. The Chief Minister's initiatives are being seen as a move to strengthen the public distribution system while ensuring better remuneration for shopkeepers who play a crucial role in delivering essential goods to the public.
