An unidentified woman died after being hit by a speeding Vande Bharat train near Rehmat Ali crossing in the Manikpur police station area of Pratapgarh on Wednesday.
An unidentified woman died after being hit by a speeding Vande Bharat train near Rehmat Ali crossing in the Manikpur police station area of Pratapgarh on Wednesday.
According to the information available, the woman was around 45 to 50 years old. She came under the Vande Bharat train and died on the spot. Soon after the incident was reported, the Manikpur police and a GRP team reached the location and inspected the spot.
Police took possession of the body and started efforts to identify the woman. However, her identity could not be established till late evening. Police are speaking to people in nearby villages and collecting information about the woman to find out who she was.
The process of sending the body for postmortem is being carried out. Police said more details related to the incident will become clear only after the woman is identified.
