Muzaffarnagar Widow Accuses Officials Of Helping Land Grabber Destroy Crop

In Muzaffarnagar, a widow named Rahnuma, a resident of village Sher Nagar under the Nai Mandi police station area, has accused the government machinery of acting in collusion to get her plot occupied and of destroying her sugarcane crop.

The woman submitted an application to the District Magistrate and demanded action. According to her allegation, on 21 September, Liaqat was given possession of her plot in the presence of the kanungo, lekhpal and Nai Mandi police.

Rahnuma has demanded that her plot be returned to her. She has also sought compensation for the loss caused to her sugarcane crop and registration of a case against those she has called responsible.

The complainant has warned that if her plea is not heard, she will sit on a dharna with her children on 2 October.

The allegations made by Rahnuma have not been officially confirmed.
