Waterlogging on Bhinga-Rapti Barrage Road Causes Hardship for Villagers in Shravasti

Commuters and local villagers are facing severe difficulties traveling on the road connecting Bhinga district headquarters to Rapti Barrage under the Jamunaha area of Shravasti district. A stretch of approximately 500 meters near Kakardari village has been plagued by waterlogging and potholes, making passage extremely difficult for those using the route.

The accumulated water on the road surface has led to frequent accidents involving two-wheeler riders and local residents, who are regularly getting injured while attempting to navigate the damaged stretch. The deteriorating condition has prompted area residents to demand an immediate solution from the administration to address the mounting problems caused by the poor state of the road.

The Public Works Department (PWD) appears to be taking the issue seriously and has completed the necessary formalities at the departmental level to address the problem on a permanent basis. PWD Executive Engineer K.P. Mishra clarified the current situation, stating that the department understands the hardship being faced by the public.

Mishra explained that a proposal for the reconstruction of this road was prepared quite some time ago and has already been sent to the state government for approval. He assured that once the final approval is received from higher authorities, work to completely repair the road will be started on a priority basis at the ground level.

Meanwhile, the villagers continue to wait with hope that the budget and administrative sanction will be granted by the government at the earliest, so that they can finally get relief from this long-standing problem that has been persisting for a considerable period of time.
