Villagers demand reopening of blocked footpath in Pratapgarh after filing complaint

A footpath used by villagers in Daahi village in Pratapgarh district has allegedly been blocked, prompting residents to file a complaint during the police station's public grievance day. On Saturday, village residents Dinesh, Vinod Sharma, Tulsiram, Sonu Sharma and Anil Sharma submitted a written complaint at the Aspur Devsara police station's Samadhan Divas, reporting that the path has been shut off.

The complainants alleged that the closure of the route has caused severe inconvenience to people traveling in and out of the village. The villagers explained that the land in question is officially recorded as a chakmaarg, or footpath, in the revenue records. Despite this official status, the path has been blocked, they said.

The residents have demanded that authorities conduct an on-site inspection and order the footpath to be reopened for public movement. Station House Officer Rakesh Chaursiya confirmed that a complaint letter has been received and that an inquiry is underway. He stated that the land bearing gata number 306 is recorded as a chakmaarg in the revenue documents. Action will be taken in accordance with the rules based on the findings of the investigation, the SHO added.

The Aspur Devsara police station area falls under the jurisdiction of Pratapgarh district, where the disputed path is located in Daahi village.
