Varanasi ADG Naveen Arora Reviews Durga Puja-Dussehra Preparations Via VC

ADG Zone Varanasi Naveen Arora reviewed preparations for Durga Puja and Dussehra, along with the law-and-order situation, through video conferencing with police officials from districts across the zone.

In Varanasi, on the night of 23 September, ADG Zone Varanasi Naveen Arora held a detailed review meeting through video conferencing with the Superintendents of Police of the districts in the zone and other senior officers. The meeting focused on the upcoming Durga Puja and Dussehra festival preparations, maintaining law and order, crime control, disposal of investigations and case property, arrest of wanted criminals and criminals carrying rewards, cyber crime, and the progress of various digital portals.

ADG Arora directed all districts to prepare a strong security plan in advance to maintain peace during Durga Puja and Dussehra. He said that vigilance would be required during the festivals to prevent any kind of disorder or untoward incident. He also asked officials to ensure the deployment of adequate force at sensitive locations.

On crime control, he instructed the districts to ensure early disposal of investigations and case property. He said that the arrest of wanted criminals and criminals carrying rewards should be given priority. Instructions were also issued to ensure effective action in cyber crime cases.

The progress of IGRS, e-Sakshya, e-Summons, Yaksh App and other digital portals was also reviewed during the meeting. The ADG emphasised the effective use of these portals. He said police functioning should be made more transparent and accountable by strengthening digital systems.

During the meeting, ADG Naveen Arora also announced the innovative launch of a ranking system and report card for the districts. He said the performance of districts would now be regularly evaluated on various parameters and rankings would be issued. Progress would also be monitored through report cards.

According to the review, this system is intended to encourage districts that perform better, while also helping identify weaker areas where concrete steps can be taken for improvement. The ADG linked the initiative with regular monitoring and accountability across the districts of the zone.

ADG Arora appealed to all officers to discharge their duties with full dedication and efficiency. He asked them to work in the public interest and leave no stone unturned in maintaining law and order.

Superintendents of Police from various districts of the zone presented their respective reports during the meeting. They also received necessary directions from the ADG as part of the detailed review of festival preparedness, policing priorities, pending work, crime-related action and digital monitoring systems.
