Under Uttar Pradesh Police's "Operation Conviction" initiative, a man convicted under the Arms Act has been sentenced to four months of simple imprisonment and fined ₹500. The case pertains to the recovery of an illegal knife from the accused, Malik Ram, son of Sattan Yadav, a resident of Parshuram Khalsa in Shravasti district.

The state-wide "Operation Conviction" campaign, launched by the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, aims to ensure swift convictions in significant and identified cases. Senior officials, including the Additional Director General of Police, Gorakhpur Zone, and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Devipatan Range, are closely monitoring its progress.

In Shravasti district, Superintendent of Police Rahul Bhati has been personally overseeing key cases under this initiative. To expedite convictions, he has directed Additional Superintendent of Police Chandra Kesh Singh, along with station officers and legal representatives, to ensure effective court representation.

The conviction in this case was achieved through coordinated efforts by the district's monitoring cell, government counsel, and court representatives. The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Shravasti found Malik Ram guilty under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act, registered in Case No. 181/2011 at Gilola police station. The court sentenced him to four months of simple imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹500.

"Operation Conviction" reflects the Uttar Pradesh Police's commitment to strengthening law enforcement and ensuring justice in cases involving serious offenses. This latest conviction underscores the effectiveness of the campaign in delivering timely justice.
