UPRTOU to Celebrate 21st Convocation with Notable Guests on July 17
UPRTOU's 21st convocation on July 17 will feature Governor Anandiben Patel and Padma Shri Malini Awasthi as chief guest.
Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU), Prayagraj, is set to host its 21st convocation ceremony on July 17. The event will be presided over by Uttar Pradesh Governor and university chancellor Anandiben Patel. Adding to the significance of the occasion, renowned folk singer and Padma Shri awardee Malini Awasthi will attend as the chief guest. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh's higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay and minister of state for higher education Rajni Tiwari will serve as guests of honour.
During the ceremony, students who have successfully completed their undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs through open and distance learning for the December 2025 and June 2026 sessions will receive their degrees. To acknowledge exceptional academic achievements, outstanding students will be awarded the Chancellor's Medals and University Gold Medals.
Ahead of the convocation, the university has planned a series of 'Deekshotsav' programs in its adopted villages. According to Prabhat Chandra Mishra, the university's public relations officer, these activities will be conducted on a large scale, and the action plan for the programs has already been finalized.
The convocation is expected to be a momentous occasion, celebrating the achievements of students while emphasizing the university's commitment to community engagement through its outreach initiatives.
