UP OBC commission to hold public hearing in Kanpur Dehat on August 25

The Uttar Pradesh State Local Rural Bodies Dedicated Backward Class Commission will visit Kanpur Dehat on August 25 to conduct a public hearing on the social and economic conditions of Other Backward Classes in the district. The commission, led by its chairman and members, will hold meetings to gather objections and suggestions from concerned parties during the day-long visit.

The commission team will be headed by Chairman Justice (Retired) Ram Autar Singh and includes members Brijesh Kumar (retired District Judge), Santosh Kumar Vishwakarma (retired Additional District Judge), Dr. Arvind Kumar Chaurasia (retired IAS), and S.P. Singh (retired IAS). The high-level panel has been specifically constituted to assess OBC welfare in local rural bodies across the state.

According to the detailed schedule released for the visit, the commission will depart from Lucknow at 9:00 AM and reach Kanpur Dehat by 11:00 AM on August 25. Between 11:00 and 11:30 AM, the team will hold discussions with the District Magistrate regarding the status of backward classes in the district. This will be followed by a review meeting and public hearing from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, during which the commission will receive objections and suggestions from stakeholders and community representatives.

The public hearing is expected to provide valuable insights into the ground realities faced by OBC communities in Kanpur Dehat, including issues related to social inclusion, economic opportunities, and implementation of welfare schemes. After concluding the proceedings, the commission will depart for Lucknow or its next destination at 4:00 PM, marking the end of its Kanpur Dehat leg of the assessment tour across Uttar Pradesh districts.
