Two men arrested for illegal felling and transport of jamun tree in Bulandshahr

Police in Bulandshahr's Narsena police station have registered a case against two men for cutting down a jamun tree without permission and transporting it on a tractor-trolley. The police have seized the tractor-trolley and launched an investigation into the matter.

According to police, information was received on the morning of 11 September at around 8:15 am that some people were cutting trees in a prohibited manner in village Daulatpur. Acting on the information, a police team reached the spot where they found a Mahindra tractor parked near village Daulatpur. The trolley was loaded with jamun wood.

Police apprehended two persons from the spot, identified as Kailash Jatav son of unknown and Sameer son of Sakeel, both residents of village Daulatpur under Narsena police station jurisdiction. During questioning, the accused could not produce any valid permit for felling the tree.

According to police, the accused had cut a jamun tree measuring approximately two metres and were transporting the wood loaded in the tractor-trolley. Police have registered a report in this case under relevant sections of the Indian Forest Act and have initiated an investigation. The police action has created panic among timber mafias operating in the area.

When contacted regarding this matter, station in-charge Nitin Jawla stated that illegal activities will not be tolerated in the area. He confirmed that a report has been registered in connection with the timber case and legal action is being taken against the accused after investigation. The police are continuing their probe to establish the full circumstances of the illegal felling and ensure appropriate action under forest protection laws.
