Thousands throng Shravasti temples for Kajri Teej worship of Lord Shiva

A wave of devotion swept through Shiva temples across Shravasti on the occasion of Kajri Teej festival, as thousands of devotees gathered to offer prayers and perform rituals for Lord Mahadev.

Since early morning, long queues of Shiva devotees have been forming for the jalabhishek, the ritual water offering to Devadhidev Mahadev, and the entire temple premises have been echoing with chants of Har-Har Mahadev. The faithful began arriving at the crack of dawn, eager to mark the auspicious day with traditional worship.

The famous Vibhutinath Mahadev temple in Shravasti has been witnessing a particularly heavy turnout of devotees. Kanwariyas, the devotees who carry holy water on foot, have been fetching water from Rajiya Talab and proceeding toward the temple while raising spirited slogans of Bol Bam as they perform the jalabhishek of Bhagwan Bholenath. The procession of devotees carrying sacred water has created a continuous stream of worship throughout the day.

In view of the large crowds of devotees, police and district administration have put in place robust security arrangements. Police personnel have been deployed across the temple premises and the fair area, with arrangements made for crowd control, barricading, parking facilities and surveillance to ensure smooth and safe conduct of the religious observances.

The occasion of Kajri Teej in Shravasti has presented a remarkable spectacle of devotion and faith.
