Teen girl critically injured after contact with 11,000-volt power line in Bulandshahr

An 18-year-old girl named Sabiya was critically injured after coming into contact with an 11,000-volt electrical line in the Kheer Khani area of Khurja, Bulandshahr.

Sabiya had gone to a neighbor's house for some work when the accident occurred. She came into contact with the 11,000-volt line that was running over the rooftop, leading to the incident.

The injured girl was admitted to a government hospital following the accident. Her condition was reported to be critical, and she was subsequently referred to Aligarh for further treatment.

Sabiya's family had been living at her maternal grandfather Khijr Mohammad's house for the past several months at the time of the incident.

The accident has exposed the electricity department's negligence and brought its failures into the open. The incident occurred due to the laxity of the power department.

This is not an isolated case in the area. Approximately two months ago, a similar incident involving the 11,000-volt line had already claimed the lives of a grandfather and his grandson in the same locality. The repeated accidents highlight ongoing safety concerns regarding exposed high-voltage electrical lines in the residential area.
