A tree plantation programme was organised at the Nagar Palika premises in Muzaffarnagar under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.
As part of the campaign, the team from the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) has set a target of planting around 2000 fruit-bearing and shade-giving saplings in the district. The programme focused not only on planting saplings but also on the need to protect and care for them after plantation.
Assistant Director Ashok Kumar Gupta and Manoj Goyal stressed the importance of conserving plants. They said that for environmental protection, every citizen should plant saplings and also look after them.
Former MLA Ashok Kansal, Vijay Shukla, Sunil Singhal, G.K. Sharma and Sanjay Mittal, along with others, were present at the programme.
