Shravasti Rain Brings Crop Relief, Waterlogging Trouble After Three Days

Continuous rain in Shravasti for the past three days has brought both relief and trouble, with crops benefiting from the showers while waterlogging has created problems for people in several areas.

The rain, which began on Wednesday night and has continued intermittently, is being seen as useful for paddy, sugarcane, maize, mentha and arhar crops. Farmers are expected to get some relief from the rainfall, especially after humid heat had been troubling people in the district.

At the same time, the rain has caused difficulties for pedestrians and workers. Markets wore a deserted look, roads remained empty, and waterlogging was reported in many villages, as well as at chowks and intersections, making movement difficult for residents.

There is also concern that strong winds may cause paddy crops to fall in several places. With the temperature dropping, people struggling with humid weather have got some relief.

The Agriculture Department has advised farmers to drain water from fields in case of waterlogging and to take immediate treatment if gandhi pest is seen.
