Sharadiya Navratri Mahotsav Concludes in Chandausi with Prize Distribution

The Sharadiya Navratri Mahotsav being held at Akrur Ji Puram on Ram Bagh Road in Chandausi, Sambhal, concluded with a grand closing ceremony and prize distribution function. The event was organised under the aegis of the Mahakaleshwar Dev Vani Temple.

The concluding programme was attended by Chandausi Nagar Palika Parishad Chairperson Lata Varshney as the chief guest. The ceremony recognised participants who secured positions in the different competitions organised during the festival.

The temple committee had organised a range of religious, cultural and traditional sports-related programmes on the occasion of the festival. The Mahotsav had been continuing for several days, with hundreds of devotees, women, youths and children from the area participating enthusiastically.

The programme began with the chanting of Vedic mantras and an aarti of Maa Durga. This was followed by a series of cultural presentations. Local girls presented an engaging dance based on a devotional tribute to the goddess. A bhajan group also performed devotional songs, which captivated those present.

Traditional sports competitions were also held as part of the celebrations. Tug-of-war, matka race and folk-song competitions became major attractions for the participants and the audience.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Lata Varshney said, "श्री महाकालेश्वर देव वाणी मंदिर द्वारा इस प्रकार के धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक आयोजन हमारी सनातन परंपरा को जीवित रखते हैं और नई पीढ़ी को अपनी संस्कृति से जोड़ते हैं। ऐसे आयोजनों से समाज में एकता और संस्कार दोनों मजबूत होते हैं।"

Participants who secured first, second and third positions in the competitions were honoured with shields, certificates and prizes. The office-bearers of the temple committee also presented a memento to the chief guest and expressed their gratitude.

The temple mahant, the president of the organising committee, prominent citizens of Akrur Ji Puram, a large number of women and youths were present on the occasion. The programme was conducted by the secretary of the temple committee.

The festival concluded with the distribution of prasad among those present. The event brought the religious, cultural and traditional activities organised during the Sharadiya Navratri Mahotsav to an end.
