SDRF rescues 45 from flood-hit villages in Mirzapur, relief camps set up

Seven villages in the Lalganj tehsil area of Mirzapur district have been severely affected by heavy rainfall and waterlogging, prompting swift rescue and relief operations by the district administration. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) successfully rescued 45 people stranded in the flooded areas and moved them to safety.

The incessant downpour led to severe waterlogging in seven villages, creating a crisis situation for residents. Upon receiving information about the flooding, District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar immediately reached the affected areas to assess the ground situation. He personally inspected the impacted zones and directed officials to intensify relief and rescue operations without delay.

In Dighuli village, one of the worst-hit areas, an SDRF team launched a rescue operation and evacuated 45 people to safety. All rescued individuals were shifted to a relief camp set up at Ram Harkh Inter College, where arrangements for accommodation, food, and other essential facilities have been made. The district administration has ensured that those displaced by the floods receive proper care and support during their stay at the camp.

District Magistrate Gangwar issued strict instructions to officials to provide adequate facilities at the relief camp, including food, clean drinking water, bedding, lighting, and other necessary amenities. He emphasized that no laxity should be tolerated at any level of relief and rescue work, and that the affected people should not face any difficulties. The DM also visited Badgad village to take stock of the flood and waterlogging situation there.

Administrative teams continue to monitor the affected areas closely, conducting relief and rescue work as required. The district administration remains on high alert as weather conditions remain unpredictable.
