A dispute over the property of the Scindia royal family has now reached court. Pratima Rana, the granddaughter of Maharaja Jiwajirao Scindia, has raised serious objections to an agreement related to the property and questioned the share being offered to her.

Pratima Rana claims that she should receive a 10 percent share in the property. However, she has expressed concern that the terms of the agreement could affect her full rights and interests in the property. She has asked the court not to issue any final order based on the agreement until her objections are addressed.

Her objection is focused on both the process through which the agreement was made and the conditions included in it. Pratima Rana has alleged that she was made to sign the documents at the Taj Mansingh Hotel in Delhi without being given enough time to read them.

Her allegation has been described in the phrase, “समझौता पढ़ने का मौका दिए बिना कराए हस्ताक्षर”, which means that she was made to sign without being given an opportunity to read the agreement. She has also alleged that pressure was put on her while obtaining her signatures.

Pratima Rana further claims that some of the conditions of the agreement were kept hidden from her. Through these allegations, she has questioned the procedure followed during the preparation and signing of the property-related agreement, as well as the terms contained in it.

The 10 percent share claimed by Pratima Rana is the key issue in the dispute. She says her rights in the property should be properly secured. She fears that the existing agreement could adversely affect her share and her rights connected with the property.

For this reason, she has placed her objections before the court and sought its intervention in the matter. Her demand is that the court should hear her claims and allegations before the property agreement is given final effect.

Pratima Rana has specifically requested that no final order be issued on the basis of the agreement until her objections are resolved. Her position has also been stated as, “आपत्तियों के निराकरण तक न हो अंतिम आदेश”, meaning that no final order should be passed until the objections are addressed.

The case now involves questions over the family property, the rights of those claiming a share in it and the process through which the agreement was reached. The issue has once again brought the property of the Scindia royal family into discussion.

However, the final legal position on the allegations made by Pratima Rana and her claim to a share will become clear only after the court takes a decision and the related documents are examined. At present, attention is focused on the further hearing in the case and on the court’s view of the agreement and its validity.
