Sambhal police are on alert ahead of the upcoming Dussehra festival. To strengthen law and order and security arrangements, Sambhal Superintendent of Police Vikas Chandra Tripathi today conducted a detailed inspection of two major Ravan effigy-burning sites in the district.

The SP inspected the Ravan-burning site at Rambagh Temple in the Chandausi police station area and the Ramleela Ground in the Hayatnagar police station area. The inspection was carried out in view of the Dussehra festival and its preparations.

During the inspection, SP Vikas Chandra Tripathi closely reviewed the security arrangements, crowd management measures, barricading, fire safety and other preparations at the venues. He walked through the grounds and examined the arrangements in detail.

The SP also checked whether adequate space and proper routes were available for spectators to sit, leave the venue and move out safely in case of an emergency. The arrangements for the movement of people inside and outside the event sites were also reviewed as part of the inspection.

He spoke to office-bearers of the organising committees and other organisers present at the locations. The SP obtained the necessary information from them regarding the arrangements and the steps being taken to conduct the programmes safely, peacefully and in an orderly manner.

SP Vikas Chandra Tripathi appealed to the organisers to burn the effigy only at the fixed time. He also asked them to cooperate with the police in controlling the crowd and maintaining proper arrangements during the programme.

After completing the inspection, the SP issued strict directions to the concerned circle officers, station in-charges and police personnel. He directed them to ensure the deployment of adequate police force, women police personnel and police personnel in plain clothes at the event sites.

He also instructed the police to make strong arrangements for crowd control. Monitoring is to be carried out through drone cameras and CCTV cameras so that the venues can be kept under close watch.

The SP further directed officials to maintain alert surveillance and ensure that a fire brigade, ambulance and medical team remain present at the sites to deal with any emergency situation.

He also ordered that a traffic diversion plan be prepared in advance so that the general public does not face any inconvenience because of the events.

The surprise inspection by SP Vikas Chandra Tripathi created a stir in the police department. Following the inspection, the police at the concerned stations also stepped up their preparations for Dussehra.

The administration claims that this time Dussehra in Sambhal will be celebrated in a completely safe and grand manner.
