Sambhal district will hold a special employment generation day in its gram panchayats on Monday to provide work to rural labourers. The target is to provide employment to between 55 and 60 workers in every gram panchayat.

The programme will be organised on 12 October. The administration has set the target of creating employment opportunities for the maximum possible number of eligible workers through the initiative.

To review the preparations and ensure that there were no shortcomings, Chief Development Officer Gorakhnath Bhatt visited the headquarters of four development blocks on Sunday. He inspected the arrangements at Pawansa, Sambhal, Rajpura and Gunnour development block headquarters.

During the review, the CDO directed the concerned officers to ensure that the works approved under the Viksit Bharat, Ji Ram Ji scheme and ready to begin are started on time. He also instructed officials to ensure the proper deployment, according to the rules, of workers who are willing to work and meet the eligibility requirements.

The administration said the instructions were aimed at creating more human days and providing employment to rural residents. Officials were told to complete the necessary preparations so that the employment generation day could be conducted according to the target in every gram panchayat.

During the review, gram panchayat officers were given clear instructions that any negligence in providing employment to workers according to the fixed target on the special employment generation day would not be tolerated.

The concerned employees were also warned of strict action if they ignored the government’s instructions or failed to take action according to the target. The warning was issued as part of the review of preparations in the four development blocks.

The administration said that, under the leadership of the Chief Minister and in line with the directions of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, emphasis is being placed on creating the maximum possible employment opportunities in every gram panchayat of the state.

As part of this effort, preparations for the special employment generation day have also been intensified in Sambhal district. The concerned Block Development Officers, Programme Officers and Technical Assistants were present during the review meeting.

The report was filed by Rajat Malhotra.
