A surprising scene of internal turmoil within the Samajwadi Party has emerged from Shravasti in Uttar Pradesh, where a party meeting reportedly turned into a heated confrontation. The meeting was held at the party’s district office in Bhinga, but tension escalated in the presence of senior leaders. Workers engaged in a sharp exchange, and a microphone was forcibly snatched from the hands of a party leader.

A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. Following the video’s circulation, political statements have also intensified. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, or AIMIM, has taken a direct jibe at the Samajwadi Party over the dispute.

The meeting had been called at the Samajwadi Party office in Bhinga in support of graduate MLC candidate Sanjay Tripathi. Devipatan division in-charge and former Cabinet Minister Yasir Shah was present on the stage, along with Sanjay Tripathi himself.

According to the account of the incident, the meeting was proceeding peacefully when a Samajwadi Party leader came forward to speak. However, other workers allegedly forcibly took the microphone away from him and stopped him from speaking.

The situation reportedly became tense immediately after the microphone was snatched. Soon, a major uproar began on the stage and inside the hall. The two sides were involved in heated arguments and a tussle, according to the report.

The open dispute, which unfolded in the presence of senior leaders, brought the party’s internal differences into public view. The visuals of the confrontation are now being widely circulated on social media.

The Opposition has also begun taking a dig at the Samajwadi Party over the matter. Dilshad Pathan, state president of AIMIM’s Social Activist Wing, shared the video on Facebook and made a sharp remark against the party.

Pathan alleged that Samajwadi Party state secretary Babu Bhai was insulted in front of a gathering and claimed that minorities do not receive respect within the party.

Sharing his criticism, Dilshad Pathan wrote:

In his post, Pathan also referred to an earlier incident in Lucknow, claiming that Maulana Iliyas from Bhinga had previously been insulted at the party office in front of Akhilesh Yadav. He further alleged that the Samajwadi Party only knows how to seek the votes of Muslims and not how to give them respect.
