Renter Walks Away With Key To Hotel Room In Aligarh

A hotel owner in Aligarh’s Lodha area has complained that two youths who had taken a room on rent have not returned after locking the room and taking the key with them.

According to the hotel owner, Digambar Singh, the two youths had come to stay at the hotel around fifteen days ago. They had submitted an ID linked to Dori Nagar in Gandhi Park. Singh said they stayed for five days, ate and drank at the hotel, and also kept a bag and other belongings inside the room.

After that, they locked the room and left. They have not come back to the hotel since then. The key of the rented room was also taken away by them, according to the complaint.

Digambar Singh said the rent and the food and drink expenses together come to around thirty thousand rupees, which has not been paid. He said he has filed a complaint at Lodha police station.

The hotel owner also referred to an earlier theft case. He said that around five months ago, a person had come to stay on rent at the hotel. After staying for three days, he allegedly stole ten LEDs from all the rooms at night. Singh said the thief has still not been caught.
