Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University marks 5th Foundation Day with cultural celebrations

Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University, Aligarh, celebrated its 5th Foundation Day with great grandeur, dignity and an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm. The Foundation Day was observed on the university campus with active participation from students, teachers and non-teaching staff, transforming the entire campus into a festive environment where students displayed special enthusiasm and energy.

To mark the Foundation Day, the university is organizing a three-day series of extensive cultural programmes. The objective of these programmes is to provide a platform for students to showcase their creative talent while presenting the life, struggle, patriotism, ideas and contributions of freedom fighter and the university's source of inspiration, Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh Ji, before the new generation.

The three-day programme schedule includes various cultural and literary competitions such as rangoli, traditional attire, poetry recitation, essay writing, extempore speech, mimicry, short film, speech, slogan, folk dance, folk song, drama and several other events. Students are participating in all competitions with tremendous enthusiasm.

The Foundation Day programme commenced with a havan ceremony. University Registrar Shri Prabuddh Singh participated in the havan. While extending Foundation Day greetings to the university family, he wished for the bright future of the students. He called upon students to advance the dignity and prestige of the university and to actively contribute to works related to education, culture and national interest.

Programme Coordinator Prof. Anjana Kumari also encouraged the students and said that the active role of students in the progress of the university is extremely important. She inspired students to recognize their talent and continuously strive to take the university to new heights.

Through the poetry recitation competition organized on the occasion of Foundation Day, students introduced their creative talent. Through poetry recitation, students remembered Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh Ji's love for the nation, his contribution to the freedom movement and his inspirational personality. The spirit of patriotism and love for the nation was clearly visible in their presentations.

Students achieved positions in various competitions held as part of the Foundation Day. The results of the competitions organized were as follows.

In the essay writing competition, Manisha Rawat secured first position, Nandini Singh secured second position, and Shivani Sharma secured third position.

In the poetry recitation competition, Vishal Sharma secured first position, Nikhil Chaudhary secured second position, and Chandra Prakash secured third position.

In the traditional attire competition, Yashi Bharti secured first position, Mayuri Bhardwaj secured second position, and Gitesh secured third position.

In the rangoli competition, Team Sakshi Sharma secured first position, Team Rohit Kumar secured second position, and Team Yashi Jadaun secured third position.

Students delivered impressive displays of their talent, creativity, imagination and cultural understanding in the competitions. In the rangoli competition, students displayed their artistic talent by creating attractive and message-oriented rangoli designs, while in the traditional attire competition, a beautiful glimpse of Indian culture and traditions was witnessed.

The cultural programmes organized by the university are not limited merely to entertainment, but through them an effort is being made to effectively present the life and achievements of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh Ji before students and society. Through various competitions and cultural presentations, students are being familiarized with his nationalist ideas, contribution to the freedom struggle, social concerns and dedication towards the country.
