Husband throws acid on wife in Aligarh, woman hospitalized

In a shocking incident from Aligarh, a man allegedly poured acid on his wife early Friday morning and fled the scene. The attack took place around 6:30 AM in Shahjamal, near Rahmania Mosque, under the jurisdiction of Rorawar police station. The victim, Yasmeen, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the district hospital for treatment.

According to initial reports, the accused, identified as Sabad, lived in a rented house with his wife and four children. Sabad was reportedly unemployed, and Yasmeen had urged him to find work, which led to frequent arguments between the couple. On Friday morning, Sabad left the house but returned shortly after. As soon as he entered, he allegedly threw acid on Yasmeen, who was lying down at the time, and then fled the scene.

Police arrived at the location after receiving information about the attack. Rorawar police station inspector Ravi Chandrawal stated that no formal complaint has been filed yet, but investigations are underway. Authorities are working to locate the accused and gather more details about the incident.

It has also emerged that Sabad has a criminal record. In 2010, he was reportedly jailed on charges of rape, raising concerns about his history of violent behavior. The incident has left the local community in shock, with many demanding strict action against the accused.
