Protests at Patliputra Railway Station Over Constable Recruitment Exam

The Bihar constable recruitment exam began today, but protests erupted at Patliputra Railway Station before the exam commenced. Patna DM Dr. Tyagrajan stated that the administration received information about the unrest around midnight. Despite repeated requests to maintain order and cooperate with other candidates, some individuals continued to disrupt operations by pulling emergency chains and making demands for additional special trains. Two special trains had already been arranged for the exam. The DM added that mild force was used to disperse the protesters, and the situation is now under control. Trains have resumed normal operations, and candidates are being transported as planned.

Eyewitness Sanjay Kumar Sharma reported significant damage to his shop during the violence. He described how stones were thrown inside, and he narrowly escaped harm. The recruitment exam is being conducted across 500 centers, with over 16 lakh candidates vying for 4,128 posts. The exam will run until June 17 in two shifts daily. Strict guidelines have been issued for candidates, including restrictions on carrying electronic devices and personal pens to the exam centers.
