President Droupadi Murmu to attend AIIMS Bilaspur’s first convocation on October 6

President Droupadi Murmu will visit Bilaspur district in Himachal Pradesh on 6 October for a one-day visit. During the visit, she will attend the first convocation ceremony of AIIMS Bilaspur as the chief guest and present degrees to students and healthcare professionals from different batches.

Preparations for the President’s proposed visit have begun at the state government and district administration levels. The AIIMS Bilaspur management has also started preparations for the President’s welcome and the convocation ceremony.

During her visit to Bilaspur, President Droupadi Murmu will first reach the Shaktipeeth Shri Naina Devi Temple. There, she will offer prayers according to the prescribed rituals and seek the blessings of Mata Shri Naina Devi.

After this, she will attend the first convocation ceremony of AIIMS Bilaspur. The President will present degrees to 43 MBBS students from the 2020 batch, 14 MD-MS doctors from the 2023 batch, 26 nursing students from the 2022 batch and 9 paramedical students.

The convocation will be held in the presence of the President and will be a special occasion for the students of AIIMS Bilaspur. It will mark the institution’s first convocation ceremony, for which preparations are continuing.

AIIMS Executive Director Dr Daljit Singh provided information about the arrangements. He said that the AIIMS management was fully prepared to welcome President Droupadi Murmu and other distinguished guests at the first convocation ceremony.

Dr Daljit Singh said preparations were continuing to make the ceremony successful and memorable. He added that the institution’s objective was that doctors and other healthcare workers graduating from AIIMS should remain dedicated to serving the country and society.

The President’s programme will therefore include both a visit to the Shaktipeeth Shri Naina Devi Temple and participation in the first convocation ceremony at AIIMS Bilaspur. The degrees will be awarded to students from the MBBS, MD-MS, nursing and paramedical programmes during the ceremony.
